A right-hand top-order batsman and seamer, Ashan Priyanjan was appointed Sri Lanka's captain for the 2008 Under-19 World Cup in Malaysia. He made his one-day debut for Bloomfield just a couple of months before the tournament, following some impressive all-round performances with the U-19 side. He was also a member of the 2006 U-19 World Cup squad. An admirer of Aravinda de Silva, Priyanjan hopes to break into the senior side and if not, has ambitions of making a career as an IT engineer.
