 Profile

Born in Birmingham, England, Harry Boam has represented Wellington at the Under-17 and 19-level. A right-hand batsman and medium- fast bowler, he hadn't played first-class cricket before being selected for the 2008 Under-19 World Cup. He hit the headlines a few months later when he became the first schoolboy cricketer to bag a contract with Wellington, for the 2008-09 season. Boam's cricketing hero is Mahela Jayawardene and outside the game he enjoys playing football.
